Rossco

Rossco

Since bursting onto the Newcastle Electronic Music scene in early 2004, Rossco has maintained momentum in raising his profile as one of the most innovative Trance and Techno DJs to come out of the steel city.

Armed with a record bag full of the latest and yet to be released tunes from some of the genre's biggest labels including Armada, Soundpiercing, Discover, Eve Records, Trancetribe Recordings, Detox, Stay up Forever, and countless more, Rossco is well positioned to move forward in Australia's trance scene coming into the 2008/2009 season.

Never backing away from a challenge, Rossco has been known to throw all conventions out the window and push the boundaries just that bit further, like stepping up to the turntables and playing an entire set without headphones (Transmission DJ Comp, 2006) or combining three different genres in what can only be described as a juggling act mixing tracks on four CD turntables, spiced up with with looping and effects (Traffik Jam III, 2007), or playing an impromptu set infront of 3500 electro fans using an unknown DJ's tracks when one of the headline DJs went missing (Groovin' The Moo, 2007).

Rossco's supports list reads like a who's who of Trance and Techno including: Eddie Halliwell, Above and Beyond, Cosmic Gate, John '00' Fleming, Sean Tyas, Simon Patterson, Public Domain, Alex Kidd, Matt Hardwick, Scott Bond, Scot Project, Anne Savage, John Askew, Organ Donors, The Thrillseekers, DJ Wag, Kyau vs Albert, Christopher Lawrence, and more at some of the worlds most respected dance events, such as: Godskitchen, Slinky, and Trancetribe: Experience.

April 2008 saw Triple-J's "The Club" broadcast Rossco's entire March 08 Demo, nationwide. Following this Rossco decided to launch his own podcast "Trance Essential" which showcases the latest in Trance from some of the biggest artists and labels in the game. His podcast has been received with widespread acclaim from all over Australia and abroad, leading to interest from interstate promoters and consistently hitting the top 10 of the iTunes music podcast charts with each episode.

With Trance gaining momentum, and Rossco taking a solid hold at the forefront of the local scene, who knows what the rest of the year will bring!

Acoustic Shadow

Acoustic Shadow

In 2003, Stevan Cetinich AKA Acoustic Shadow started holding small underground dance parties with a group of friends, and after whatching his friends play at these parties his interest in electronic music grew.
He began playin breaks and electro at these smaller parties and loved doing all he could with the organisation and production of musical events.
After discovering the beauty of Psy-Trance his focus moved from organising the parties to just playing at them.
Over the last few years his style has changed from harder, more psycadelic trance to cheesy morning psy, to the point he's at now with a mixture of deep minimal prog to funky cheesy prog.
He just recently began playing under the label SecretPsyde Recs and has begun to create his own blend of music to be released in the coming months, so keep an ear out for it.

MALDORE
AKA Warwick Elkins

Maldore

13 years behind the turntables and Maldore continues to lead the way in providing hyper-speed, body violating, dance floor destruction. Maldore simultaneously mixes and MCs and finds no bounds to his performance structure. Maldore appreciates that not everybody wants to permanently scramble their brains and loose control of their bodily functions in a bass driven breakbeat frenzy... BUT acknowledges that there are a significant number of mash-heads out there who do... thus Maldore exists.

Maldore's first audiences were those in various clubs and raves in south-east England as the jungle and hardcore fever broke loose in the mid 90's. Maldore moved to Bristol in 2000 where the drum and bass and ragga jungle was unbelievably huge and relished learning and playing alongside the awesome Dissident Free-Party DJs. In Bristol Maldore picked up the dirty habits of Breakcore, Death-Metal, Gabba, Techno and Jungletek which now influence his DJ sets.

Maldore moved to Reading, UK in 2004 and saw the huge potential the place had to offer. It didn't take long for Maldore to team up with Peter Dennis and provide some unforgettable themed free-party experiences in abandoned factories, council flats, University properties, forests, HGV's, railway arches etc. Themes included Super Mario, Voodoo Sacrifice, Clowns, Scrap Heap... The more bizarre the better, with the focus on dropping the unsuspecting raver into spectacular environments, where role-play and anarchy roamed free. Maldore co-founded the regular warehouse rave night 'Fractals' and entertained along side the Breakcore legends Shitmat and Exile.

Since leaving Reading, Maldore has broadened his horizons DJing in Europe, Indonesia and now in Newcastle Australia. Maldore is stoked to have met some real keen Newcastle party people and DJs including Carpe DM, Tom Haze, Grimmo, Chop Stuey and Phreedee who realise the importance of pushing forward new experimental rave styles. The summer is coming and its time to take the sound systems outside!
Listen out for details on his Myspace blog and check his soirees at the Croatioan Club, Wickham and other Newcastle venues.

To sum up a Maldore DJ/MC set............... Rave, Energy and Hysteria!
